Most people think that their computer is secure enough or see the danger of viruses and other Internet threats are not good at it. Here's how to avail the best protection against virus.

Today daily millions of people surfing the Internet. While the Internet greatly with it has brought, it also brings disadvantages. Internet has also become very attractive to criminals. Active criminals on the Internet almost always try to make money from individuals or organizations. Actually, the only thing to be done here, good security software purchase. And that is exactly what happened with most Internet users is not the case. Still, the bulk of the private computers insufficiently protected.

There are many different security software available from many suppliers. For most software should be paid, although there are some free virus scanners available. The most popular are listed below;

Free:

* AVG antivirus Free Edition
* Avira AntiVir Personal
* Avast Home Edition

Paid:

* Norton
* McAfee
* Kaspersky
* ESET
* Zone Alarm

Many people will list the above questions. Should I buy free or paid security software? And what software is really the best? This is not easy to answer, it will give a brief explanation;

Free or paid?
The software is offered free of charge, usually contains only protection against computer viruses. Unfortunately, there is now much greater threats such as spyware, malware and phishing. This free security software you are not protected. Free security software is also less effective as paid versions. It is not advisable to just install free security software. Many people think that they are adequately protected, but this is often outdated.

The paid versions are usually effective. This makes sense, because companies want to keep paying customers happy. This does not mean that any paid security software is good, but this light I below. There is also the distinction between anti-virus and Internet security. Anti-virus protection only against viruses and also against other Internet security threats. As I have already explained, there are now Internet threats not only from viruses. It is therefore advisable to internet security to purchase.

What is the best security software?
It is hard to say. On the internet, many reviews of security software available. They differ, however, often with what security is there at number one. Often it is a personal choice, one has more possibilities than the other. There is quite a difference in price. Anti-virus varies in price from € 25, - to € 40, - per year. Internet security varies in price from € 40, - to € 60, - per year. It is often possible to licenses for multiple computers to buy and for a longer period (more than one year). If you still have no idea what security software you should buy, I recommend that you use from the above list to choose from. McAfee has my personal preference.

Morro:antivirus free version cloud computing?

This solution was adopted to fight against the continued growth of bases of signatures and the use of local resources. Concretely, this translates to the following process: opening a suspicious file triggers the sending of a request (with imprint and vector) to the data center hosting the antivirus engine and a full database of signatures.

If the code is identified as malicious, a warning message informs the user. Changes in the parameters of the workstation can also be proposed to prevent infection and developed an antidote. This real-time protection not herald the end of traditional signatures. This technology is presented as complementary rather than a substitute.

Several antivirus vendors, including McAfee, Trend Micro and Panda Security have implemented since 2008 this new technique. It is however not the case according to Kaspersky that this approach has too many limitations.

General, understanding of antivirus and antispyware proves useful in times of sudden computer attack.

Free microsoft anti-virus coming soon

Microsoft will soon be launching its FREE Antivirus service for personal computers! A beta version of Microsoft's free antivirus software -- code-named Morro -- will soon be available from the company's Web site, according to a report.

Microsoft employees are already testing the software ahead of a broader rollout in the near future. The company declined to provide a specific date for Morro's release, but said the trial version would be available "soon."

Microsoft announced its plan to replace its Windows Live OneCare security software with a free anti-virus product last November.

The company said at the time that Morro would help encourage more people to take anti-virus seriously, claiming nearly 50 percent of Windows users don't have an antivirus tool installed on their PC.

"Our goal with OneCare was to get more customers more protected, and I don't think we were able to do that to the extent that we would have liked," said Amy Barzdukas, a senior director of product management with Microsoft. "As we look around the world now, the countries where PC growth is most rapid, in emerging markets such as Brazil and India and China, the malware threat is even greater."

However, Morro, which is expected to run Windows OneCare's antimalware engine but will use fewer system resources, won't be bundled into the operating system, Barzdukas said at the time. That decision could help placate concerns from security software vendors, whose ability to sell anti-virus products to consumers would be hampered if Microsoft bundled a free tool with its operating systems.

Features

According to Microsoft, Morro will offer basic features like fighting wide range malicious software including viruses, spyware, rootkits and trojans, making it comparable to low-end consumer products already existing in the market.

It is being said that the launch of the free Antivirus from Microsoft could overthrow sales of Symantec and McAfee products that cost about $40 per year, currently generating billions of dollars a year.

Supported Operating Systems

“Morro” will be available as a stand-alone download and offer malware protection for

- Windows XP
- Windows Vista
- The Windows Operating System which has came of the ages with Windows 7.

Microsoft says that when used in conjunction with the ongoing security and privacy enhancements of Windows and Internet Explorer, this new solution will offer consumers a robust, no-cost security solution to help protect against the majority of online threats.

It sure will be very interesting to see how the features of Morro would compare against products from its competitors. Let’s wait and watch!
